Four of my favourite things from this week.
CumberHamlet and Bakkhai rehearsals
This week in theatre news: the Barbican Centre and Almeida Theatre released photographs from rehearsals for (Cumber)Hamlet and Bakkhai respectively. It’s great to get an insight into the rehearsal process and as I’m lucky to have tickets to see both of these plays, they have served to ramp up my excitement levels to previously unknown heights.
Also, British actors have the best hair. Discuss.
Over the past couple of weeks I have been obsessively listening to the Gilmore Guys podcast through Soundcloud. Hosts Kevin T. Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe sit down (often with guests) to watch a chronological episode of Gilmore Girls and talk about it. I’ve half-way through their recaps of season one and love it. I especially love the pop culture references megamix.
I have recently rediscovered Pinterest and all my boards on there. There’s boards on crafts, New England, travel, museums, Nottingham, cake, films, books and loads more. Feel free to have a browse around!

Batgirl and Black Canary
Every few months I pop into Page 45, my brilliant local comics shop in Nottingham to collect my standing order. Waiting for me this time were multiple issues of (take a deep breath) The Wicked and the Divine, Lumberjanes, Loki: Agent of Asgard, Gotham Academy and Ms Marvel. On top of that I also snuck in Hawkeye vol 3, the first issue of Black Canary and Batgirl vol 1: The Batgirl of Burnside. So much reading to be done!
I read Batgirl and Black Canary first and absolutely loved them. Heartily recommended for anyone like me who loves vibrant, YA-infused superhero comics. I don’t read much DC stuff but I always love anything that a collection of the following people are involved with: Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, Babs Tarr and Annie Wu.
