This year me and my boyfriend set ourselves a reading challenge on the brilliant reading social networking site Goodreads.
Our aim was to read 40 books in a year and I’m pleased to announce that I have succeeded! Woo!
A large part of this is in thanks to our two week holiday in Tunisia in April where I over 14 books! Hold on though – don’t be too impressed – wait until you see the list!
I am quite pleased with this – particularly as I spent the first few months reading A Game of Thrones and the latter part of the year working on my A level (or planning for Paris!). I’ve also read a lot of books that I wouldn’t normally pick up such as Outliers – you can see the lack of Jasper Fforde and Agatha Christie! There are also a few books that I couldn’t list on here – re-readings, comics and books that aren’t on their list (odd).
I’ve also noticed a big shift in the way I read – I used to buy books more often than not but most of the books on the list this year were read on my kindle or borrowed from my local library (money saving!). I like to read on my commute and lunch hour so I’ve been increasingly taking my kindle out and about. My local library is really great too so I’ve been taking advantage of this.
I’m hoping to finish a few more books before the end of the year as I’ve got a few on the go at the minute!
